11 months!

"I am 11 months old today!  Hear me ROAR" - 'cause I do! (the guy in red - not the bearded man)

The real deal...wacky bro and sis...

"I'm on top of the world" - my eyes sparkle when I am excited - whether it be for good for being mischevious...

Apple Pickin'

Granny Smiths and Jonathans were our apples of choice for Labor Day.  Can't tell that Hannah is a bit excited to be picking apples for the second time in 4 days.

A couple of folks checkin' the apples out.  Vercapnik's Family Apple Orchard was all ours on Monday afternoon.  What a beautiful orchard.  Humidity was a bit warm, but a great day nonetheless.

Hannah showing Grandma how to pick the apples.

What is that cat doing in that tree??  I am pickin' apples!!

Tah-dah!

"The Biggest Bento Box Ever!"

So excited about her "Bento Box" just like Oliva the pig and her friend Francine (it is a book).  I obviously lost the wardrobe battle.

First Sack Lunch

September 3, 2008 was right around the time my blood pressure started rising in anticipation of my baby girl.  Now it is rising again with the anticipation of her first sack lunch and field trip.  She gets to go to the apple orchard (NE is the home of Arbor Day) and pick apples with 4 of her best friends - Blake, Jordyn, Elijah, and Gavin.  Of course Miss Becky - her most favorite teacher ever - is taking them!
Such an exciting time for our little girl.  Hope she will wear jeans and tennis shoes even though she is in the phase where she tells me what she is wearing (not sure this phase will go away) and it is always a dress because she is "a princess and princesses wear dresses so they can dance."

Hope she enjoys this lunch.  I made the sandwich with raspberry preserves and butter just like my Grandma Bowen used to make...she put butter on every sandwich she ever made for me I think - even in college.  I also put the note - just like mom would - hope Miss Becky reads it to Hannah because I think the only things she will recognize are her name and the 'H' on Hope.  Everybody knows that any word that begins with 'H' is Hannah =).  If she eats her fish, there are surprise chocolate chips at the bottom.  Hope she starts with the sandwich...

Catching up...

WARNING!
There are LARGE number of pictures to follow.  This is a recollection of what we have been up to for the past 25 days.  In that time, we've been in 4 different states, 3 family birthdays (Shelli - 30!, Grandpa Gary, and Grandma Karen), undergone kitchen reconstruction, had GI bug for a week (only S & D), worked (Sarah helped to open 6 school based health centers in the Omaha area and Derek is busy at work with money received for the Activate Omaha Initiatives), Hannah has been without a pacifier for 3 days straight, and Eli has started to crawling...no more commando...nothing is or will ever stop him again....  Enjoy!

Car Seats and Preschool

Baby E is over 20 pounds and 30 inches...thus at 10 months needed a different car seat.  So Miss Hannah got her Big Girl Car Seat - check out those cup holders.  She is just a touch excited!

TV is serious business...

Hannah's 3rd day of preschool.  Preschool meant no more pacifier.  Note to those mom's out there...18 months or prior...seriously...it has been a bit painful, but we are all makin' it.  Here are two goof balls...

Mischief...with a capital M!

Spaghetti and Mashed Potatoes!

Can I just say that it is an understatement that Eli LOVES food.  Gerber can go by the wayside as far as he is concerned. Here is his first adventure with homemade spaghetti sauce (thanks Mel for the recipe) and noodles.  Needless to say, he LOVED it!

YUM!

Mashed potato face!!!
