Slumber Party?

Hannah is very creative.  No sleeping in bed...just sleeping on the chairs next to the bed.

Sweet sleep...on chairs.  She amazes me daily!

Lions, but no Tigers or Bears - Oh, my

So for Eli's class - we tried an experiment from the cookbook, Hello Cupcake.  Since Eli wants to be a lion for Halloween, I thought I would treat his class to some out-of-the-ordinary lion cupcakes in honor of him turning 2.  So... many licorice shoe strings cut into 3/4" 'hairs' later, blue mini M&Ms, apple jacks, heart-shaped Runts, along with orange, brown and specks of white frosting later...you have 17 lions for some Pennie Toddlers!

Derek was the art-teest with the "fur" as you can see by the middle lion here - pretty darn cute!

And then we have the Hannah version (Eli just ate them)...the version only the Miller Household could ever enjoy (more slobber and frosting tasting than anything else -yikes!)

The proud birthday boy - more frosting and tops of the cupcakes eaten than anything else ---- yeah he ate 2...so did his sister!

Yes - Hannah was decorating mostly like this - hence the reason for the Miller household version of the cupcakes.

Yuuuummmmy!

Mom - please can I have some more frosting and Apple Jacks???

Over exposed close-up...need some hints from my high school friend Mel about how to take amazing food picts with my point-and-shoot camera...

Happy Birthday Eli!

Happy Birthday to me!!!  Couldn't be more excited!

The birthday table - got to eat dinner and cake in the living room
- a real treat since we don't get to eat on "mommy's carpet" ever.
(P.S. It helped that NE was playing OH!)

The ice cream cake!

Opening presents - very serious business!

Reading my new dragon book.  I LOVE BOOKS!!!

And the grand finale...get this truck outta here mom!!!

The E-man.  Cannot believe it has been 2 years.
Such a sense of humor and still is a cuddle bug.
We love you so much Eli and smile at the anticipation of your continued growth.

Go Big Red!

Telephone?

A true sign of the times.  We only have cell phones, but at school the kids play with phones at school.  This is E at Grandma's desktop computer answering the "phone"
- loving the fact that he can touch the keyboard.

Hello?  Why is no one answering?

Hello?

Train Ride

A couple weeks ago, we went to visit Grandma Kathy.  We were lucky enough to try out a train ride in Baldwin City (20min from her house).  At first, they both were a little unsure.  The whistle and riding on the caboose in open air.  But as these pictures progress, much like the trip - they loved the "Choo Choo!"

Posing with Grandma in the train car from 1919.

We got to eat lunch - Hannah was having a ball!

Eli waving "Bub-bye" to the cars that we went by, trees, you name it - lots of hand waving.
Here is the train station.  It is original.  They also have special train rides for Halloween and Christmas.  You can rent the train for parties.  There is also a time when Thomas the Train himself rolls into town.

The long Katy train.

Just a couple of quick picts of some cute kids.
